My Sincerest Apologies

So, my aim to post daily has clearly failed. Life has a habit of getting in the way.

Just a quick update on how things are going, and what future posts may be about.

I have broken up with my fiance, as stated in an earlier post. The short version is he was abusive, I got fed up. He is not making an effort to see his daughter, turned out he raped me when I was sleeping and is trying to have my daughter taken from me. Good luck to him.

I am coping. I've dealt with worse.

Old Signs

Sweetie, I'm half wishing you are dying.
'Cus then you'll love me like I love you.
And I wish you won't cry over me.
Because It's better if you never love me.
Because then I'm just a coward.
Then I'm just selfish.
Then I'm just attention seeking.
Gone too far. Bad habits.
Because then I did it for the wrong reasons.
Then it's not your fault.

I don't want you to blame yourself,
Even though you ruined me,
Ruined my progress,
Ruined my sanity,
Shattered my heart.
Because a bottle of bud is worth more than my life.

I wish it wasn't like this.
But it's all your fault.
I broke up with my fiancĂ©e.

I want to take it all back.

I want all the bad so I can have the good.

I broke up with him because he was driving me to being suicidal again. He would rather party than make sure I don't kill myself.

I'm going to die either way, I want to die with him around.

The Plot Thickens

So, Susan G Komen are in even more hot water than I thought.

First of all, they claimed they are no longer funding Planned Parenthood due to policy changes. These policy changes mean they cannot fund organisations that are under investigation. Strangely this seems not to apply to Penn state.

Then they decided to back pedal and offer a new explanation. This reason is that they only wish to fund organisations that directly provide mammograms. Apparently referring for and paying for mammograms for poor women (and men), paying for health care for breast cancer, teaching people how to check for lumps and what makes you more at risk just isn't good enough. In my opinion, this doesn't make things any better. They are still depriving the poor of life saving health care.

On a somewhat lighter note, since SGK's decision, Planned Parenthood have received over $3,000,000 in donations. I have read (although cannot confirm) that it is now at $4,000,000.

I'm happy that Planned Parenthood has got the funding they need, but it really saddens me that women's lives are subject to politics. We are all far more important than politics.

So, on to some things that may be of interest to you.

First of all, this is a video by such a wonderful woman about her views on all this. Please do watch it, it made me cry. It's really powerful, and she is such a brave woman.

Second, here is a link to a tumblr blog that has been set up recently, containing stories about the wonderful work Planned Parenthood does. Well worth a read.

And finally, this movie came out on the 3rd. I haven't seen it yet, but the trailer looks rather intriguing. Whatever you think about SGK defunding Planned Parenthood, if you support it or oppose it, you need to watch this.

And that is all for today. It's horribly late, I have cleaning to do and Minecraft to fix. Have a good day, everyone.

The Poor Aren't Worth A Cure.

Time to get political.

My rage, right now, is great.

In case you don't know, Planned Parenthood, a women's health centre in America, has been under fire recently due to the fact they provide and refer people for abortions. Oh the horror! There have been many attempts to remove state funding (which due to the Hyde amendment does NOT go to abortions unless medically necessary) which has led to centres closing, depriving many poor women of basic medical care that they can get no-where else.

And now, due to pressure from the anti-choice, Susan G. Komen for the Cure have withdrawn funding from Planned Parenthood. Funding that largely went towards breast screenings. LIFE SAVING BREAST SCREENINGS.

"New criteria". New criteria which means they won't donate to services under investigation. Services they know full well are under unfair investigation due to the desire of a few to reduce women to nothing more than walking incubators!

Now breast care is for the middle and upper classes. Are you poor? YOU AREN'T WORTH THE CURE. That's what you are telling us, SGK. Poor women aren't worth saving. Your fancy new policy is far more important. Screw your policy. Screw you for being the next to let women die.

EDIT~ "In some ways, the Komen decision isn’t particularly surprising. The group has been under pressure from anti-abortion rights groups not to fund Planned Parenthood. It also hired a vice president last year who had previously advocated for the group’s defunding in her run for Georgia governor. With a congressional investigation underway, Komen pulled its support. "

It's worse than I thought.

Oopsie daisy!

It seems my posting schedule hasn't held up. Mummy stuff has got in the way, among other challenges in my family life as of late. But I do have a little more time on my hands now, so I shall have another go at this.

This is really just an apology post. I am writing a rather... lengthy post. Regarding some issues I am rather passionate about at the moment.

Thank you Lauren for your comment on my last post. Life is treating me pretty well! Ups and downs, but that is to be expected. Overall, I'm spiffy. How are you?
